More than 13,291 low-income adults in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union Counties live without health insurance. AccessHealth Spartanburg connects this population to primary and specialty care as well as a host of social services and other assistance. Increasing access to comprehensive, quality healthcare services is important for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and managing disease, reducing unnecessary disability and premature death, and achieving health equity for everyone in their service area. To do this, AccessHealth Spartanburg works closely with safety net providers, such as free clinics, community health centers, and hospitals.
